Felt is a non-woven fabric considered to be the oldest known textile. Felt is obtained by the union of short fibres of wool or other animal hair which, thanks to the superficial flaking, can be intertwined, giving rise to woolly-looking cloths, composed of a tangle of fibres without any interweaving of threads.
